A Virtual Private Server (VPS, also referred to as Virtual Dedicated Server or VDS) is a method of partitioning a physical server computer into multiple servers such that each has the appearance and capabilities of running on its own dedicated machine.

During our market research prior to offering VPS, we looked at other New Zealand VPS providers. We noticed that there was a distinct lack of of both 'Fully Managed' and 'Affordable' VPS hosting available. There were very few providers offering a simple fully managed service, where the hosting provider handled all of the day today running of the servers and server software. We found many providers only offered minimal services, and they expected the customer to buy and install the server software, and to manage it's day to day running and updating. Their plans were also very complex and confusing, and simply too technical for someone with basic server knowledge.

We realised that many customers wanted the simplicity of our shared web hosting plans, but the power and benefits that VPS hosting can offer. Customers don't want the hassle of installing server software, and regularly managing server software, updates and security for that VPS hosting. We wanted to make things simple and easy for the customer. Therefore our New VPS plans are Fully Managed, and are no more difficult to use than our regular shared web hosting plans that use CPanel. Our VPS hosting plans come with WHM and CPanel pre installed, for no additional licensing fees. WHM is the webbased interface that allows you to setup CPanel hosting accounts for your customers, and CPanel is widely regarded as being the best and easiest to use hosting control panels in the hosting industry. We found many New Zealand VPS providers use cheaper, less user friendly control panels, so we are pleased to be able to offer the high quality WHM and CPanel control panels for our VPS clients. This powerful combination provides VPS clients with the tools to setup your own web hosting business, for just a fraction of what a Fully Managed Dedicated Server would cost you.

The VPS servers are state of the art Intel Quad Core Harpertown Xeon Processors, 12MB cache, 8.0GB ECC RAM, 4 x 300gb VelociRaptor Hard Drives with Hardware Raid 10 for hard drive speed and redundancy. The combination of these Rock Solid servers and Premium bandwidth makes for an extremely reliable hosting platform. Each server also contains an additional Hard Drive for Continuous backups, and provides protection for your crucial data on multiple levels.

Each VPS is your own environment; any custom software you need that is supported, can be installed for you by request. (installation fees for any additional software may apply)

Each VPS is guaranteed a % of CPU and RAM, no matter what is happening on the system, you will always get this much. Since our providers under load the servers, this means you typically can burst to far higher amounts.

Each VPS is fully managed, top to bottom. Our providers proactively manage the server as our own, and make sure you are optimized and secured.

Your data is very important to you, and to us. We use 3 levels of protection to keep your data safe. Your data is housed on RAID-protected storage, and is then backed up multiple times per day to local backup storage. Our providers also then take your data and securely and safely back it up to our remote disaster recovery location.

Our providers USA based network is fully redundant, route optimized with the best tier 1 carriers. They don't sacrifice on anything and you always will have the fastest speeds available. Special VPS Terms

-	Please note that VPS pricing is in US dollars and exclude GST. VPS prices are in USD as this is the currency we pay our provider in. Each month we will convert the amount into $NZ dollars for you.
-	A domain name with access to register nameservers is required. You will need this so you can setup your own Personalized Nameservers
-	Our monthly billing period begins on the first day of the calendar month, and ends on the last day of the calendar month.
-	All VPS hosting clients are required to be at least a month in credit at all times. Your initial invoice will include the pro rata amount for the remaining period left in the current months billing cycle, plus 2 months of VPS hosting. We may require a credit check to be performed before we will accept your VPS application. VPS accounts that fail to remain at least month in credit may be cancelled, and all files deleted.
-	VPS hosting accounts will only be setup after payment is received.
-	A minimum of one months notice is required prior to a VPS cancellation request.
-	Payment must be be made by Direct Credit through your bank. Credit card payments are also accepted, however will attract a 5% fee due to the extra credit card processing costs involved.
